New Architecture for Future Networks

To extract and maximize the capability of physical resources and obtain high energy efficiency are inevitable for sustainable development and information technology. This research focuses on the identification, resource management, control protocol, and security problems for information networking using wired and wireless media, aims to design green network architectures that can work in a more flexible, scalable, and secure way.

Resource Management and Scheduling Schemes in Broadband Wireless Networks

New transmission methods and protocols have been proposed for the next generation wireless networks. This research focuses on the resource management and scheduling algorithms in broadband wireless networks using technologies such as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) systems, and distributed antenna systems etc.

Communication Protocols in Wireless Sensor and Ad Hoc Networks

In large scaled wireless sensor networks and mobile ad hoc networks, it is important to find efficient ways to collect and transfer information through organizing sensors and mobile nodes. This research aims to design and develop high-throughput, low-latency, energy-efficient, secure, and mobility supportable protocols by using cross-layer approaches.

Quality of Service for Multimedia Data Transmission over Wireless Networks

With the fast popularization of wireless terminals., a large amount of multimedia data are transmitted and shared among distant sites. In order to overcome the unsteadiness of wireless links and efficiently utilized the scarce radio resource to provide quality of service for multimedia applications, this research aims to find the best coding and error recovery stragegis for multimedia streaming.

Characteristic Analysis and Performance Evaluation of Internet Traffic

Conventionally, network traffic has been modeled using classical Poisson-based models. Then, as numerous research results have demonstrated, that scaling behaviors such as long-range dependence or self-similarity is observed in internet traffic. This research is focused on the multi-scaled traffic characteristics, and intended to figure out their effects on network performance, using the traffic data monitored from the real network.
