Characteristic Analysis and Performance Evaluation of Internet Traffic

Conventionally, network traffic has been modeled using classical Poisson-based models. Then, as numerous research results have demonstrated, that scaling behaviors such as long-range dependence or self-similarity is observed in internet traffic. This research is focused on the multi-scaled traffic characteristics, and intended to figure out their effects on network performance, using the traffic data monitored from the real network.
